Last week, Doug from Sleep Pod hit the road, this time distributing 600 Sleep Pods across the North of England, working alongside an incredible network of partner charities, outreach teams, and community organisations.
Thanks to a well-coordinated effort led by Katie, dozens of volunteers came together to ensure people sleeping rough can stay warm and dry as the weather turns colder.
As one of our partners, John Gibbons (Focus4Hope), shared:
“So yesterday Katie and her Sleep Pod team, in association with Focus4Hope and a load of like-minded groups who are trying to prevent rough sleepers in the North of England from freezing to death, dropped 400 Sleep Pods at our place in Leeds.
A slick, well-planned operation saw them collected and distributed sharpish. John Shaw (Help4All) came all the way from Greater Manchester to collect and many others travelled long distances too, all with the same aim.
If you have a corporate chance to get involved with a Sleep Pod build, please contact Sleep Pod and they’ll arrange it. If you have a spare couple of quid, maybe donate, and maybe save someone from freezing to death. Stronger together.”
That spirit of solidarity perfectly sums up what Sleep Pod is all about.
Every Pod built, delivered, and handed out is the result of collaboration, people and organisations working together to make sure no one is left behind.
