One individual in Bishop Auckland has returned their Sleep Pod after being safely housed — a powerful moment made possible by the dedicated support of our North East Hub, Cornerstone Supported Housing and Counselling, working alongside Sadler House and Durham County Council.
After nearly two years on the streets, they’re now settling into a new home and a new chapter.
Sleep Pods are not a long-term solution — but they provide shelter from the cold, a little dignity, and breathing space. That space allows people to connect with outreach teams, engage with support services, and begin moving forward.
Huge thanks to Cornerstone for the incredible joined-up work they do every day to help make stories like this one possible. ![]()
