On the streets, a Sleep Pod can be the difference between a freezing night and a fighting chance. We may not always hear the stories firsthand, but we know each Pod provides warmth, dignity, and protection when it’s needed most.
We rarely meet those who use Sleep Pods, but we hear back from charities who distribute them. They tell us that Pods are taken quickly, always appreciated, and often essential during extreme weather.

Many of our distribution partners now use Sleep Pods as more than just emergency protection. They tell us the Pods can open conversations, build trust, and help them connect with rough sleepers who may otherwise be hard to reach. A Pod can be the first step, giving someone immediate warmth and safety, while also signposting them towards statutory services and, ultimately, the possibility of more permanent housing.
When a couple arrived at Cornerstone’s Bishop Auckland Homeless Hub seeking help, they were doing everything they could to find a place to call home, even as they faced sleeping rough during Storm Amy. Late one night in Bishop Auckland, police officers came across someone newly arrived in the area and facing homelessness. They ensured his safety and referred him to our partners, Cornerstone Supported Housing and Counselling, the next morning.
Despite the heavy rain, The Invisibles were able to offer warmth, comfort, and essentials to 23 people on the streets of Glasgow tonight. From hot drinks and food to sleeping bags, footwear, and clothing, every donation made a real difference in helping those facing such harsh conditions.
On one of the coldest nights, 146 people in Camden received support — showing just how vital emergency shelter remains. We’re humbled that Sleep Pods could provide protection and comfort where it was needed most.
As the icy weather sets in, Sleep Pods are helping rough sleepers like Michael in Leeds stay dry and warm. With hundreds of Pods already distributed, we’ll keep working through winter to reach those who need them most.
