On World Homeless Day, we had the privilege of partnering with Bunzl UK & Ireland during their leadership conference in Edinburgh for a truly special CSR event.
In just 90 minutes, the Bunzl team came together to build 60 Sleep Pods, emergency shelters designed to offer warmth, protection, and dignity to people experiencing homelessness. The session was hands-on, emotional, and deeply purposeful, reminding everyone of the power of teamwork and compassion in action.
Held on such an important day, this build carried an even deeper significance because of the presence of HMP Addiewell. They were able to give us all a huge insight into their inmates who have helped build so many of the Sleep Pods going out onto the streets this Winter. Jamie’s story is one that will stick with everybody who was in that room for a long time.
This reflected the shared commitment between Bunzl and Sleep Pod to ensure that no one is left without shelter when temperatures drop, and the start for future collaborative working.
